As announced on Monday 13 October 2008, British government is to inject 37 billion pounds in 3 major British banks, among which Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). According to several financial experts, this situation "counts as perhaps the most extraordinary in British banking history".
The bail-out was the first measurement taken since the introduction of a financial rescue plan last week.
